Fuerteventura is a volcanic island and covers an area of 1600 sq. km. and has about 75.000 inhabitants. The highest point is Mount Jandia at 807 m. above sea level.
The Fuerteventura Airport at El Mattoral, has daily flights from mainland Spain, Europa and the other Canarian Islands. Ferries from and to the other Islands sails daily as well.
